Shoes tell a lot about a person and we wanna delve deeply into your soul sole. Photograph your favorite pair--or pairs--of shoes and tell us a little about why they're near and dear to your toes heart (I can't wait to see how Swampy ties this in to Breast Cancer Awareness!). Follow in Jenny's footsteps and make a foot-family portrait...show us your baby bronzed booties...let us see the shoes YOU HAD TO HAVE (but have never worn)...or all those grotesquely dyed-to-match formerly white satin bridemaid's shoes that were worn ONCE...the reinforced steel-toe boots that saved your big toe from being hacked off in that industrial "accident"...or, just take pictures of your nekkid feet--gnarly bunions, twin toes, or perfectly OPI-pedicured tootsies.
So here you go world, here are my feet. Actually, these are Randy's and my feet. His are the slightly hairier ones on the left. Mine are the bigger ones attached to the chubbier calves. This is the view of our feet that I get when we watch television together. Sweet, huh?
I have shared this picture before, but I just had to include it with this post. These are the $50 shoes that I got for my birthday. I know that some of you are like "$50 shoes?? My slippers cost $50." Just know that in my cheap ass life ( I am the cheap ass and this is my life) $50 shoes are a big deal. I love these shoes with all of my heart. They are comfortable and cute. They are also a little girlier and grown up that my usual shoes. That is right guys, I am becoming a woman.
These are my sandals. They are probably the most comfortable shoes in the universe. I do not kid myself that these shoes are cute. I just love them nonetheless. These shoes are also telling me that as soon as I finish this post, I am off to cut my toenails.
These are my favorite casual shoes. These shoes look totally awesome with jeans. Well, to me they do. They are the perfect jeans shoe. I have had them for a couple of years now. If I had to pick a shoe that looks the most like me this would be it...hmmm odd.
These ugly white satin ballet slippers are my wedding shoes. More that anything else, these shoes tell the story of how uncomfortable I felt about the fact that my husband was 7 inches shorter than me when we got married. I couldn't have the slightest height on the shoe, " My God, Mom! Are you crazy!! A regular flat!!! Hell no!! I can't afford to be one millimeter taller than I have to be in this wedding!!! Can't I please go barefooted???" Thank God I got over that. I can now wear shoes that actually have soles. He is still short and I am still tall, I just got over it. (And the snazzy pants in these pictures? My pajamas :)
These are my Mississippi State slippers. Lovely, no? I graduated from Mississippi State in 1999, the same year that I got married. Three years later, on the way to the hospital to have Super Z, Randy gave me these as an early Christmas present ( It was December 20). These shoes have been at the hospital with me when I had both of my babies and they kept my tootsies warm on those long sleepless breastfeeding nights. I think I will keep these forever.

I think that your sandals are very cute and that the satin ballet slippers are lovely. The Mississippi State slippers are a great present. What a nice memory...getting them on the way to the hospital.
Ha! $50 bucks for a pair!! That is extravagant in my cheapo world. I am feeling way too cheap the more posts I go through!! If I had to estimate, the most expensive shoes in my post are....NOT MINE! The gentleman caller's are way more pricey than my thrift/Payless shoes.
I wish I could find a pair of dress shoes for only $50! I enjoyed this post...it makes you a ... uh ... shoe-in for the smile award of the morning!
Wow, you even modeled shoes for us!! Great way to express your love of shoes. Really!! I especially like the Miss St. slippers!! Cool....way cool.
I LOVE those black dress shoes and the slippers (of course)!
Excellent photos. You'd make a great shoe model I think!
I ADORE those black shoes.
Totally worth the $50.
I think the fact that the brown comfy ones are most like you says you are stylish in a casual, laid back sorta way. I'm so with you on that one.
Oh, and I got married in 1999, too.
The State slippers look comfy!! I'd keep them forever too... lots of history in those slippers!
The black ones are way cute. I adore the your brown casual ones as well. :)
I love the bare feet best! I just an a barefoot kinda girl. :) However your dress shoes remind me of my own. ;)
Those are great shots. I like your jean shoes. I have a pair quite similar -- but big enough to put my orthotic inserts in.
I love the "couples shot" of your feet! My hubby has non-existent pinky toenails, so he wouldn't let me do that. I wish someone had given me your birthday shoes for MY birthday!
Those black shoes are great! Very cute and grown up. And $50 is also expensive as far as I'm concerned for shoes. But that's because when you buy as many shoes as I buy, you have to justify it by buying affordable ones! The cheaper they are, the more I can own. (there's a method to my madness).
I love the photo of your 'friendly feet'! The slippers are a treasure as they hold so many memories so I can see why you would keep them forever I would do exactly the same.
I'm a comfort and slipper girl myself--but that might also be because my feet get freakishly cold.
I'm glad you pointed out that your's weren't the hairy feet so I didn't have to wonder.
(and while I'm typing this I see a pop up that says you left me a comment. Like minds, huh?)
I also am cheap when it comes to shoes, even when I had the money to spend. The only thing I'd really spend 50 on is boots, which I love.
A fine collection, each with their own function and story.
After working in a shoe store for years in high school and college and getting my shoes at cost, I HATE SHOE SHOPPING! I hate paying for them! So, instead, I only go when I HAVE to (that's why I just bought five pair at one time :/).
I did splurge and pay retail for one, and THANK GOODNESS I don't regret it. Nice, stylish...and comfortable!
I'm with everyone else, your black shoes were WORTH IT (and aren't you glad you still love 'em?).
And, I did think your sandals were cute...I like all the natural colors.
Barefeet still rule and I loved the hairy leg/non-hairy leg picture--very sweet :).
I too was married in 1999...I went down the grassy isle barefoot!! I am sure it made my hubby feel better about his vertically challenged self...but that is not why I did it!
I love your black and brown shoes. I had a pair of slippers I wore for the birth of my second I left the at my moms and she took them over...no more cherish here! Love your story though!
I love the brown loafers!!!
I'm with fianna and karina. Fifty dollars for shoes is outrageous on my planet. I never pay more than fifteen. They sure are cute though.
Yup - I think the most expensive shoes in my closet were $50 bucks too and I freaked out when I bought them. I just can't spend the money on myself like that.
When I married my husband I had to wear heels - he's 6'5" and I'm a short 5'4". I added the highest possible I could.
late for commenting on fun monday...sorry...but i like the satin slippers...they look so comfy!!!
FUN idea!
I could never do this. I'm waaaay too embarrassed of my shoes. I guess it's time for shoe shopping!
